Returns, Refunds and Cancellations

The 30-day return window from delivery, damaged or wrong item handling, refund timing and cancellation rights.

Alongside Market is a privately owned business, not a nonprofit, and purchases are not tax-deductible. 90% of available retail profit is allocated to financial assistance: 18% to the owner's household and 72% to other cancer patients and families, with 10% retained by the business. Return window

You may request a return within 30 days of delivery. The window runs from the delivery date, not the order date.

Condition and exceptions

  • Items must be unused, in original packaging, with tags or seals intact where applicable.
  • Exceptions: personal-care and hygiene items once opened, underwear and swimwear, pierced jewellery, and customised or made-to-order items.
  • Where an exception applies to a product, it is stated on that product's page before purchase.

Damaged, defective or wrong item

Contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the item and packaging. We arrange a replacement or refund, and we do not require you to return a damaged or wrong item unless the supplier requires it. Return shipping for our error is on us.

How to start a return and who pays return shipping

Reply to your order confirmation email with the order number and reason. For change-of-mind returns, return shipping is paid by the customer, and the original outbound shipping cost is not refunded when it was stated separately at checkout.

Refund processing time

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days after inspection, or after the carrier confirms the return is in transit. Your bank may take additional time to post the credit. Refunds are issued in the original currency.

Cancellations

Orders can be cancelled for a full refund before dispatch. Because supplier orders are placed quickly, once an order has shipped it is handled as a return.

Contributions are not merchandise refunds

Product refunds and contribution-refund requests are separate processes. We will not deny an otherwise owed product refund because money has been allocated or distributed to assistance: a distribution is our problem to absorb, not the customer's.

If a refund reduces a period's profit base, the assistance allocation for that period is adjusted and the adjustment is reported. Beneficiaries are not required to repay anything automatically, and no customer is charged a fee for a refund.

Not tax-deductible

Alongside Market is a privately owned business, not a nonprofit. Purchases and contributions are not tax-deductible charitable contributions.
